Carpet is an art which intertwined with various other arts such as drawing, painting, coloring, dyeing, Spinning (textiles) and the most important one weaving. Persian carpet enjoys old history here in Iran the oldest known “knotted” carpet the Pazyryk found by Russian archeologist in the Pazyryk valley on the Altai Mountains in Siberia. One of the exquisite arts of Iran is carpet weaving that is an inseparable part of Iranian art and culture, carpet weaving is main occupation in some number of cities like Tabriz, Kerman, Mashhad, Kashan, Isfahan, Kashmar, Delijan , Nain and Qom. Carpet in Tabriz city is known as the city souvenir. It’s worthy to remember that skill of carpet weaving of Kashan and Fars has been inscribed on UNESCO intangible heritage list.
