Jajim, Iranian Handicraft

Jajim is hand woven carpet which is woven with colorful and fine threads of wool or mixture of silk and wool. Weaving Jajim is consider as one of handicrafts of the country that has been woven from the old time here in Iran. Jajim used as a coverlet or protector from coldness and carpet. Jajim is woven on horizontal loom, weaving jajim is one of the traditional arts of nomad’s tribes and families in provinces of Mazandaran, East Azerbaijan, Ardabil, Kermanshah, Kurdistan, Hamadan, Zanjan, Lorestan and Fars. Jajim consider as one the most significant handicrafts in the provinces.
