Falak-ol-Aflak Castle, Khoramabad, Iran

Falak-ol-Aflak Castle is historic castle in the city of Khorramabad, Lorestan province. The structure was built during the Sassanid era (224-651 Ad). It was used for governmental and defensive purposes. The castle itself covers an area of 5,300 square metres including 8 towers, two courtyards as well as 300 shelter. The tallest wall of tower is 22.5 metres high. The Falak-ol-Aflak fort is built using Brick, mortar, stone, mudbrick. The current architecture of the castle some parts that has been added to it in different eras. The castle was built on top of rocky stone with panoramic view of a valley adjacent to it and a fountain called Golestan flows from it, Those are the features of this castle.
